Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has managed to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency as part of its sustainable operational practices, said Prince Saud bin Thunayan, chairman of SABIC and president of the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu.

Prince Saud said the company’s decisions have helped boost innovation and reduce costs, adding that such practices also allow SABIC to control greenhouse emissions, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported.

Meanwhile, SABIC’s acting CEO, Youssef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, has announced that the company has set a goal to slash emissions and water consumption by 25 percent and to reduce wasted materials by 50 percent, compared to 2010.
