Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) has launched the second phase of its SAR 1 billion business transformation project (Fanar Plus), the Saudi-based Al Watan newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources.
The project will enable the petrochemical producer to manage its business operations in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Fanar Plus is currently being set up in the company’s Europe locations and linked to its head offices in Riyadh and Jubail. The system is expected to be up and running later this month, the sources added.
The company has successfully implemented the original Fanar project in the past using SAP technology at the company’s headquarters in Riyadh and in sales offices in Asia and Europe. It’s used by the blue chip in three different locations and in three different time zones.
SABIC attributes its competitiveness and efficiency to Fanar, which integrates IT with best industry practices.
