Saudi POS transactions up 10% y-o-y in May

Saudi point-of-sale (POS) transactions rose 10 percent to SAR 16.7 billion in May, compared with the same month last year, according to a monthly bulletin issued by Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).

 

As many as 37 million transactions took place through 167,000 ATMs that month, the central bank noted.

 

POS transactions in the kingdom are mainly completed by customers in shopping malls, mega retail stores, or pharmacies.
