KACST, Saudi Electricity and Energy Tech to set up solar power plant

King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) and Energy Technology Co. will on Thursday sign a memorandum of understanding to develop the first independent solar power plant in the Kingdom.

 

The partners will also set up a joint research and development center focusing on the distribution sector at SEC, Riyadh newspaper reported.

 

The move is part of the kingdom’s drive to diversify its energy sources.
