Telecom authority says telcos can extend licenses by 15 years

01/11/2016 Argaam

Saudi Arabia’s telecoms regulator, Communication and Information Technology Commission (CITC), said all listed Saudi telecom companies can apply for the unified license for SAR 5 million and extend their current licenses by 15 years.

In return, any company that wants to extend its license should pay 5 percent of its annual net profit to the regulator, in addition to other financial fees.

Under the unified license, companies will be able to provide voice, data, mobile and fixed line services to encourage all providers to improve their services and enhance competition.
