Saudi Telecom says systems were not hacked

Saudi Telecom Co. (STC) has denied news claiming that its systems were hacked, according to a statement posted by the company on its official Twitter account on Thursday.

The company was responding to reports that a hacker had posted STC users’ personal information on social media.

The leaked information came from an old external file that was stolen from the personal computer of a technician, STC said, adding that the data is of no importance.

STC reserves all legal rights against those who post false rumors, the statement added.
