Snapchat parent Snap Inc. is in advanced talks to open an office in Saudi Arabia, CNBC reported, citing sources familiar with the discussions.
The US social media company is also working on a content deal with the MiSK Foundation, a Saudi non-profit organization, which would provide Snapchat workshops and training to Saudi youth to develop homegrown content for domestic audiences.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is currently on the West Coast leg of his US visit, where the Saudi delegation will meet with representatives from the film, entertainment and technology sectors.
During the Crown Price's trip, Saudi entities have already signed agreements to develop content with National Geographic, explore industrial financing with JPMorgan Chase and expand educational partnerships with MIT and Harvard.
