Saudi Arabia’s King Salman today launched the sustainable rural agricultural development program, targeting eight business sectors.
These sectors include small livestock farms, fisheries, honey and bees, flowers, Arabic coffee and rain-fed crops.
The program’s first phase will continue until 2025 and is expected to boost the value added from agricultural projects.
In September 2018, King Salman issued a royal decree approving a sustainable rural agricultural development program worth SAR 9 billion.
The step comes as part of the Kingdom’s strategy to optimize its resources, improve the income of small farmers, provide jobs, and achieve food security and balanced development.
