The US drilling rig count rose five units to 511 in the week ended April 19, Baker Hughes energy services firm said in its closely followed report on Friday.
This is the highest level since Sept. 15, 2023, when it reached 515.
Meanwhile, the gas rig count fell three units to 106 in the week, the lowest level since Dec. 17, 2021, when it reached 104.
