The company operates Al waha project which produces Polypropylene. It also invests in various petrochemical projects.
Sahara Petrochemical, founded in February 2004, floated in the Saudi stock exchange in May of the same year. In 2006, the Company established Alwaha Petrochemical in a joint-venture with LyondellBasell. Alwaha has an annual capacity of 450 thousand ton of Polypropylene. Other investments include a stakes in Tasnee and Sahara Olefins, Saudi Acrylic Monomers, Al Arabia Chlorophyll, and other smaller projects.
