Number of Saudi bank employees edge higher to 47,200 in 2019

The number of employees in the Saudi banking sector edged up in 2019 to 47,180 from 47,160 in 2018, data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Nationals accounted for 94.3% (44,150 employees), while non-Saudis went down to 5.7% (2,700 employees) in 2019.

Males accounted for 39,660, or 84.1% of the sector’s total workers, while females represented 7,520, or 15.9% of the total workers.

 

Saudis’ males represented 83.1% of total employees in the sector with 36,990 individuals, while Saudis females accounted for 16.9% of total employees with 7,500 individuals.

According to SAMA data, the percentage of Saudi employees working in the sector has increased since 2005, reaching 82% to 94% last year.
