King Salman, President Trump discuss efforts to mitigate COVID-19 impact

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman spoke over the phone with the United States President Donald Trump on Sept. 6, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

 

The two leaders discussed the work of the G20, which is chaired by Saudi Arabia this year, and the efforts made within its meetings to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on businesses and people.

 

They also reviewed the prominent policies that have been agreed upon to reduce the negative aspects of the pandemic on people and the global economy, the SPA reported.

 

King Salman affirmed that Saudi Arabia’s G20 presidency will continue to support and coordinate the group's efforts to confront the effects of COVID-19 on human and economic levels.

 

Discussing the region, King Salman expressed the country’s appreciation for the efforts made by the US to establish peace. He also affirmed the Kingdom's keenness to reach a lasting and just solution to the Palestinian cause to bring peace, which is the main starting point for the Kingdom's efforts and the Arab Peace Initiative, SPA said.
