Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan

The AlUla Declaration issued today, Jan. 5, during the 41st GCC Summit, reflects the strong and well-established ties linking the GCC states, said Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud.

He added that leaders of GCC states and Egypt agreed on ending all disputes and restoring all diplomatic relations.

Speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the Summit, Prince Faisal clarified that AlUla Summit, which was chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on behalf of King Salman, gave priority to the best interest of the GCC states and the national Arab security.

He also stressed that the Summit sent a clear message to the whole world that the GCC leaders’ wisdom is capable of overcoming all disagreements.

We hope that what has been achieved today by signing AlUla Declaration will turn a new page for achieving security and stability for the region and its peoples," the minister said.

He pointed out that the states that signed the declaration affirmed their solidarity in rejecting any violation of the sovereignty of any of them or any threat to their security, national cohesion of their peoples, or their social fabric in any form, while standing firmly in the face of whatever violates their national and regional security.

The declaration included the commitment of each state to end all relevant issues, out of keenness to maintain its contents. Moreover, bilateral talks will be held to strengthen cooperation between GCC states, especially with regard to combating terrorism and organized crimes, Prince Faisal concluded.
