Energy minister says it is too early to declare victory over COVID-19

Saudi Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, said today, Feb. 16, that it is too early to declare any victory over the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Oil producers must remain extremely cautious, Prince Abdulaziz said in his opening speech at the International Energy Forum (IEF), adding that uncertainty is high.

 

Meanwhile, the minister stressed the importance of OPEC+ efforts to confront COVID-19 challenges, highlighting that teamwork is necessary for OPEC+ to overcome the challenges.

 

On expecting the next move of OPEC+, the minister said: "Don’t try to predict the unpredictable."
