Saudi Arabia started today, Dec. 4, implementing the first phase of e-invoicing "Fatoorah", namely issuance and electronic saving.

This includes all taxpayers who are subject to the value-added tax (VAT) in the Kingdom, with the exception of taxpayers who do not reside in the Kingdom and any other parties that issue tax invoices on behalf of the taxpayers.

The first phase includes not using handwritten invoices or invoices written through text editors or number analysis applications on computers, as well as ensuring that there is a technical e-invoicing solution compatible with the relevant requirements.
