Jeddah Islamic Port
Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports rose by 10% year-over-year (YoY) to SAR 55.2 billion in March, recording their highest monthly value in years, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports also surged 13% month-on-month (MoM), with an increase of about SAR 6.14 billion.

The increase in the Kingdom’s imports in March was driven by a SAR 1.51 billion rise, or 28%, in its products of the chemical or allied industries. This is in addition to an 83% jump, or SAR 1.39 billion, in base metals and articles of base metals.

The US and UAE came in second and third, at 8% and 7%, respectively.
