The Saudi Cabinet approved the national policy of equal opportunities and equality in treatment that aims to end discrimination in employment and occupation, the Official Gazette Um Al-Qura reported.

The policy covers those who are subject to the civil service and labor laws. It includes all government institutions as well as the private and third-party entities.

It is based on three main pillars, namely the development of laws and policies, boosting the participation of women and groups with less opportunities in the labor market, as well as supporting the implementation of policy with effective procedures.

The policy will be applied in two phases over 10 years, with each one lasting five years. During this period, the results will be evaluated and amendments will be made accordingly.
