Saudi Tabreed signs agreement to set up SPARK’s first cooling plant

Signing the agreement

King Salman Energy Park (SPARK) signed an agreement with Saudi Tabreed Co. to increase cooling services and provide 60,000 tons of cooling in the park project.

This will be based on the build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) system for a period of 25 years, Saudi Press Agency reported.

It added that the agreement for the first cooling plant includes producing 20,000 tons of cooling and providing the remaining 40,000 tons in stages, depending on demand and in tandem with the completion of the construction of the cooling plant.

Moreover, Saudi Tabreed will provide the latest cooling and air conditioning systems through highly efficient central plants, via an insulated underground network of pipes connecting buildings and other structures.

SPARK is one of the four major projects in Riyadh, launched by King Salman on March 19, 2019. It is located on an area of 16.7 square kilometers and linked to a number of main roads, as well as to the Riyadh Metro and the bus network, data available with Argaam showed.
