PepsiCo invests SAR 225M in industrial potato project in Saudi Arabia

The National Industrial Development Center (NIDC) announced PepsiCo’s investment in a SAR 225 million industrial potato production project, in the presence of Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of NIDC.

In a statement on its official X account, NIDC stated that the project aims to enhance investments in the Kingdom, double the food industry sector's growth, and achieve integration between agricultural and industrial sectors.

PepsiCo is the Kingdom's largest multinational non-Saudi food and beverage company, present since 1957. It views Saudi Arabia as a key strategic market and a major hub for its Middle East food exports. PepsiCo's beverage network supports 20,400 jobs and contributes around SAR 5 billion to the Saudi annual gross domestic product (GDP).

There are five PepsiCo beverage factories in the Kingdom, run jointly with local partners. These include the world's largest PepsiCo factory in Jeddah, Middle East & North Africa Beverage Manufacturing Co. (MenaBev), Al Jomaih Bottling Plant (ABP), and Abdul Hadi Abdullah Al-Qahtani & Sons Beverage Industry Ltd.
