Lucid Group announced the expansion of its Advanced Manufacturing Plant (AMP-1) in Arizona, US, to bolster its manufacturing capabilities ahead of production of the new electric SUV, Lucid Gravity, and to support future growth.

The expansion includes a manufacturing facility and a new warehouse spanning three million square feet. Once the expansion is complete, the facility will bring the following functions together in one complex: a new general assembly line, new quality and semi-knock down centers, expanded body and paint shops, a logistics center, and an expanded and relocated powertrain facility, said the group.

It added that the new, expanded integrated facility, with a total area of more than 3.85 million square feet, will allow for improving the quality process, providing greater flexibility, and enhancing efficiency—thereby reducing costs.

Lucid Group, which is partly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), opened on Sept. 27, 2023, its first EV plant in Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), Argaam reported.
