US oil inventories rise against expectations

US crude oil inventories rose against expectations last week, according to US Energy Information Administration (EIA) data.

 

Gasoline inventories also increased in the week ended on Jan. 26, but distillate stocks fell during the same period.

 

Crude oil stocks added 1.2 million barrels by the end of the week, versus expectations of a decrease of 800,000 barrels.

 

Last week, US gasoline stocks rose by 1.1 million barrels, while distillate stocks were down by about 2.5 million barrels.
