ZATCA approves exemption requirements for duty-free shops in custom ports

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has approved the requirements for exemption from customs duties and taxes for duty-free shops in the arrival halls of all land, sea and air ports.

The approvals specify the maximum purchase limit and the quantities allowed for travelers coming to the Kingdom.

These requirements set the maximum limit for purchases from duty-free shops in arrival halls at SAR 3,000 per traveler, provided these purchases are for personal use. The requirements also included the purchase of a maximum of 200 cigarettes per traveler, ZATCA said in a statement.

The authority also indicated that it has begun receiving applications for licensing duty-free shop operators in arrival halls at customs ports after the operators complete the regulatory procedures with the competent authorities.
