Maaden’s unit starts trial production

Further to the Company announcement on 30/04/2013G corresponding to 20/06/1434H related to the operation and production of Sahara and Maaden Petrochemical Company (SAMAPCO).
Maaden announces that the trial production of the SAMAPCOs has started today 04/08/2013G (corresponding to 27/09/1434H). The trial production is expected to continue for 4 to 6 months, including the necessary performance testing. The financial impact will be recorded in the consolidated financial statement after the commercial start-up.
The plant is designed to produce 250,000 tonnes per year of concentrated caustic soda and 300,000 tonnes of ethylene dichloride (EDC). Any additional information will be announce in due time.
SAMAPCO is a limited liability company, jointly owned 50:50 by Maaden and Sahara.
