Abdulmohsen Al-Hokair, the chairman of Al-Hokair retail group, criticized Al-Madinah municipality's bureaucratic requirements for delaying the work of investors, according to a report published by Al-Madinah newspaper.

Al-Hokair was quoted as saying that Saudi Arabia's municipalities systems are weak, old, and need to be adjusted so that they are able to work better with investors.

There is a dire need to develop the kingdom’s regulatory systems in order to facilitate business for the private sector so that it is able to serve the community better, he added.
