Saudi Steel Pipe Company kicks off pipe coating plant trial

Saudi Steel Pipe Company launched on Monday pilot operations of its 30-inch pipe coating plant.

The pilot launch will last for three months, during which local petroleum companies will be addressed to provide services needed for the plant's commercial production, according to the company’s statement on Tadawul, Saudi Arabia’s bourse.

The Tadawul-listed company signed in May 2013 a loan facility agreement worth SAR 118.5 million to fund three projects.

The ventures included a steel pipe factory up to par with specifications set by the American Petroleum Institute (API), a pipe coating plant up to 30 inches,and OCTG threading up to 20 inches, according to data available on Argaam.
