Saudi Steel Pipe Company kicks off pipe coating plant trial

Saudi Steel Pipe Company launched on Monday pilot operations of its 30-inch pipe coating plant.

The pilot launch will last for three months, during which local petroleum​ companies will be addressed to provide services needed for the plant's commercial production, according to the company’s statement on Tadawul, Saudi Arabia’s bourse.

The Tadawul-listed company signed in May 2013 a loan facility agreement worth SAR 118.5 million to fund three projects.

The ventures included a steel pipe factory up to par with specifications set by the American Petroleum Institute (API), a pipe coating plant up to 30 inches,and OCTG threading up to 20 inches, according to data available on Argaam.
