Saudi Steel Pipe Co. (SSP) has granted SAR 2,000 to each of its Nepalese workers following the deadly earthquake that struck the East Asian country, Sabq newspaper has reported.

The Saudi daily cited the company’s chief executive Ahmed Al Dabbasi as saying priority is always given to its employees regardless of nationality. He added that the move followed donations made by SSP to its Filipino workers impacted by a massive typhoon last year.

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal last month resulting in more than 7,000 deaths, while more than 14,000 people have been injured, according to recent estimates from the country’s government.
