Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) confirmed on Friday that all of its facilities within the kingdom are operating normally.
The statement came in response to a report from Iranian state television which said that one of Aramco's facilities in Saudi Arabia had been hit by a missile fired by Yemeni Houthi rebels.
The state-owned oil giant does not operate any oil facilities in the southern part of the kingdom, near the border with Yemen, apart from a plant in Jazan for distributing oil products.
Oil prices jumped on Friday following the report of the missile strike, and settled slightly higher. Brent crude ended the session up 0.5 percent at $49.92 per barel (bbl), while WTI crude edged up 0.6 percent to $47.64/bbl.
