Labor ministry mulls enforcing Saudization at car rental offices

27/04/2017 Argaam

Saudi Arabia’s ministry of labor and social development is seeking opinions of industry experts on a draft decision that limits jobs at the car rental sector to nationals.

The Saudization of car rental offices comes as part of the ministry’s efforts to cut unemployment rates. If approved, the new law could come into effect March 18, 2018, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry in May completed Saudization efforts at local mobile shops. Now, the country’s cell phone shops have to ensure 50 percent Saudization, according to the new law.
