UK retailers to enter Saudi market: report

08/02/2018 Argaam

Seven British small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) operating in the retail sector are looking to invest and gain presence in the Saudi market, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported on Thursday, citing Paul Hardy, acting director of the UK Department for International Trade in Saudi Arabia.

British investors are showing a growing interest in the Kingdom, thanks to the latest social changes and fiscal reforms implemented in the country.

Last December, US-based tech giants Apple and Amazon were in talks with the Saudi government to invest and have a direct presence in the Kingdom, Argaam reported.

Apple and Amazon are selling products in the Kingdom through third parties, but do not have a direct presence.
