Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group is planning to set up two new hospitals in Jeddah at a total investment cost of nearly SAR 3 billion, the group’s chief executive, Nasser Al Huqbani, told Al-Jazirah newspaper on Sunday.

The two facilities are the group’s first investment in the western province.

Preliminary designs for the new hospitals were completed and the required license was also obtained from Jeddah Municipality.

The hospitals are likely to provide more than 5,000 jobs for Jeddah citizens, Al Huqbani said.

“The group is currently working on Al-Khobar hospital, which is almost 75 percent complete. The facility’s investment cost reached SAR 1.8 billion,” he added.

The medical services provider is also planning to invest SAR 1.3 billion in Jubail city. Designs for the project, launched by Saudi King Salman, were complete and the group is currently finalizing the required paperwork.

Other SAR 2 billion worth of investments will be injected in Riyadh for the establishment of the Middle East’s biggest hospital on 25 floors, Al Huqbani added.
