Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) announced Thursday the issuance of the public consultation documents on the Regulatory Frameworks and Licensing for International and National Internet Exchange Points (IXP) in the Kingdom.

In a released statement, CITC highlighted that the objective of the public consultation documents is to promote competition in the telecom market, improving the quality and prices of Internet services, and meet the increasing demand for Internet services in the Kingdom.

This is in addition to attracting foreign investment to meet the market’s needs to achieve the Kingdom’s vision 2030, maintaining the national Internet traffic within the Kingdom and establishing the Kingdom as a regional hub for Internet traffic, the statement added.
