Saudi authority to file lawsuit against possible cement cartel

The Saudi General Authority for Competition (GAC) approved to file a penal lawsuit before the competent committee against cement producers who are planning to form a cartel.

The decision came after investigations were launched against the cement producers that aim to distribute quotas, monopolize the market and control prices, GAC said in its board meeting on Monday.

No further details were mentioned about the target cement firms.

The authority also decided to file another lawsuit against the contracting companies for violating public tender rules.
