Saudi banks loans hit SAR 1.6 trln in December 2019

Saudi bank loans granted to the public and private sectors increased 7% year-on-year (YoY) by the end of December 2019 to SAR 1.60 trillion compared to 1.49 trillion a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).

 

Private sector lending also rose 7% YoY to SAR 1.54 trillion for the same month.

 

Meanwhile, the value of loans given to the public sector jumped 15% YoY to SAR 61.6 billion by the end of December.
