Saudi POS transactions grow 34% to SAR 31.5 bln in July 2020

Point-of-sale (POS) transactions in Saudi Arabia saw a 34% year-on-year (YoY) growth to around SAR 31.5 billion in July 2020 from SAR 23.5 billion during the same month last year, figures from the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) showed.

 

Data showed that 268.3 million transactions were processed through nearly 558,800 points-of-sales in shopping malls, retail stores, and pharmacies.

On a yearly basis, cash withdrawals declined 9% YoY to SAR 57.7 billion, through 159.2 million transactions processed across 18,700 ATMs in July 2020.
