M&As in Umrah sector to cut costs, diversify services: Deputy Minister of Hajj

Mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in the Umrah sector will significantly reduce operating expenses, and boost operating efficiency as well as diversification of services amid robust asset base and strong financial position, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdul Fattah Mashat, said.

“Hajj and Umrah systems are not only limited to the basic services provided to the pilgrims. There are many other services that can be provided by the private sector, such as logistical support services, which will have a major role in fulfilling the goals set by Vision 2030,” Mashat added while addressing the second virtual forum to enrich the experience of Umrah pilgrims.

This includes improving services provided to pilgrims and other visitors, receiving bids for additional diversified services and offering specialized services in line with certain criterias, he further noted.
