Saad Alkhalb, CEO of Saudi EXIM Bank


Saudi Export-Import (EXIM) Bank announced appointing Saad Alkhalb as chief executive officer (CEO) as of today, May 23, 2021.

 

Alkhalb held the position of president of Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) since June 2018. He was also the chief operating officer (COO) of Saudi British Bank (SABB), HSBC and other leading Saudi banks.

 

During this period, Alkhalb achieved several goals, including increasing efficiency, reducing operating costs and encouraging the optimal use of resources.

 

At the beginning of his career, Alkhalb worked for companies, such as Advanced Electronics Co. and Schlumberger International.

 

Alkhalb acquired a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in 1992 and holds more than 25 years of experience.

 

In February 2020, the Saudi Cabinet approved the regulations of Saudi EXIM Bank, Argaam reported

 

Since its establishment, Saudi EXIM Bank implemented the technical and administrative competencies stipulated in its regulations, the most prominent of which include the following:

 

- Providing export financing services, guarantees, export credit insurance and other forms of credit facilities to beneficiaries with competitive advantages;

 

- Offering financial, economic or technical advice to beneficiaries;

 

- Providing the best solutions and services that contribute to enhancing Saudi exports through partnerships with local and international bodies in the public and private sectors;

 

- Cooperating with commercial banks as well as local and international financial institutions in order to provide integrated financial services to fund exports;

 

- Studying and following developments of export finance, guarantee and export credit insurance services internationally, as well as defining the best practices and standards to improve the bank's services.
