CITC reveals internet speeds for Q1 2021 in Saudi Arabia

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) released its report on internet speeds in the Kingdom (Meqyas) for Q1 2021.

 

The report compared the speeds of service providers in the Kingdom through download, upload and 5G, ranking the best performing operators in each region.

 

stc came in the first place in terms of mobile internet average download speed, with 130.84 Mbps. Meanwhile, Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) and Etihad Etisalat Co. (Mobily) came in the second and third places with 102.27 Mbps and 99.29 Mbps, respectively.

 

Salam (previously Integrated Telecom Co.) ranked first in terms of fixed mobile internet average download speed, with 113.33 Mbps, followed by Mobily with 90.08 Mbps and Zain KSA with 89.85 Mbps.

 

Meanwhile, stc took the first place in terms of the mobile average download speed in Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Northern Province, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Makkah, Al-Baha, Jazan, Najran, and Eastern Province. Zain KSA came first among telecom operators in Madinah, while Mobily ranked first in Asir.
