Saudi Arabia e-commerce council will issue regulations to organize the import of consumer products for retail, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing Abdulmalik Altuwaijri, General Manager Product Safety at Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).

“These regulations will be issued soon; targets are mapped out to monitor imports via e-commerce platforms,” he added.

In July 2019, Saudi Arabia’s cabinet passed the e-commerce law, which came as part of the e-commerce council’s initiatives, Argaam reported.
