The Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY) sealed a SAR 145 million agreement with a national steel manufacturer to establish a wind power system plant, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The agreement adds a new qualitative value to the Yanbu Industrial City and comes in line with Vision 2030, the commission said.

The new plant is forecast to start commercial operations by end of Q2 2023, and will likely provide 145 job opportunities.

Al Yamamah Steel Industries Co.'s board of directors approved, on Feb. 8, to begin construction of Al Yamamah Wind Power Systems plant as of March 1, at the cost of SAR 293 million, Argaam earlier reported.
