Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) launched a program to assess agricultural investments abroad, which targets Saudi investors and suppliers from outside the Kingdom.

In a statement, the ministry said the program will contribute to diversifying and stabilizing external food supply sources to support the Kingdom's food security initiatives, as well as enhance opportunities for agricultural and livestock investments abroad. In addition, it allows the issuance of agricultural records for investment projects abroad.

The move will support benefiting from the program of purchasing wheat and other products that will be added to Saudi investors abroad, as well as the financing programs provided by the Agricultural Development Fund (ADF) for agricultural investment abroad, and the facilities provided by the ministry for importers of agricultural and animal products. In addition, the move will boost framework agreements with target countries, and strengthen bilateral relations with other countries.

The ministry confirmed that a "geospatial" portal will be launched to enable investors in the field of agricultural and animal activities to register through the portal. It called for Saudi investors abroad to register, benefit from the program, and obtain an agricultural record.
