Saudi bank loans to public, private sectors rise 16% to SAR 2.129 trln in December 2021

Saudi bank loans granted to the public and private sectors increased 16% by the end of December 2021 to SAR 2.1292 trillion, compared to SAR 1.8416 trillion a year earlier, according to data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

Private sector lending also rose 15% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 2.034 trillion for the same month.

 

Meanwhile, loans granted to public non-financial institutions amounted to about SAR 95.1 billion at the end of December, an increase of 20%, compared to the same period in 2020.
