The National Committee for Agriculture and Fishing of the Federation of Saudi Chambers discussed the potential opportunities in the agriculture sector and domestic challenges, especially the labor problems.

Saudis are becoming less willing to work in the agriculture production field since it requires vigorous physical activity, while also being hindered by remoteness problems. This, in turn, was reflected in a rise in foreign labor fees and weighed on the local agricultural activities.

Accordingly, the committee responded by opting out from the working hours system for agriculture work and to start recruiting Pakistani as well as Indian labor.
