Riyad Capital Announces the Appointment of, Dr. Abdullah Alshwer as the new CEO with more than 20 years experience  in the investment sector

 

Previous Positions

 

Prior to joining Riyad Capital, Dr. Abdullah served as the CEO and CIO of Ashmore Investment Saudi Arabia for more than six years. During his tenure, he led the company to significantly expand its operations, coverage, and assets under management making Ashmore Saudi Arabia one of the major international asset managers across the MENA region.

Dr.Abdullah served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Higher Education Fund (HEF), managing its multi-asset, multi-market investment portfolio. He was also a senior financial advisor to the Minister of Education, and served as Chairman and member of the Advisory Committee at the Capital Markets Authority (CMA). Additionally, he served as a board member of multiple local and international companies across various sectors, including banking, financing, technology, agriculture, hospitality, healthcare, education, and real estate.


He has also been a fund board member for investment funds in the US and Saudi Arabia.

 

Qualifications

 

- PhD in Finance from Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin.

 

- Certified Financial Analyst.

 

- MBA in Finance and Information Systems from John Neff College of Business at the University of Toledo.

 

- BA in Finance from King Saud University.

 

In additional to several executive educational programs at various institutions such as Harvard, IMD, INSEAD, and LBS.
