Saudi Aramco’s Wasit project said to be near completion: report

20/09/2015 Argaam

Saudi Aramco has almost completed the construction of its Wasit gas project but is processing gas from the Karan gas field and not from offshore fields designated to feed the gas plant, Reuters reported, citing unnamed industry sources.

Due to technical difficulties the plant is not expected to start processing non-associated gas from offshore gas fields Arabiyah and Hasbah before the end of the year, Reuters added, citing an industry source familiar with the matter.

The Wasit gas project is split into several offshore and onshore units. Onshore, Aramco has built a central processing facility, natural gas liquids fractionation facilitiesm and a sulphur recovery unit.
