State-run Saudi Aramco is preparing to select the winning bidder for upgrading Manifa oilfield's water injection system, MEED reported on Wednesday, citing unnamed industry sources with knowledge of the matter.
The contract value is estimated at $150 million.
The project bids were submitted by Italy's Saipem, McDermott International, India's Larsen & Toubro, Dynamic Industries and Abu Dhabi-based National Petroleum Construction Co. (NPCC), the sources added.
The scope of work includes the installation and pre-commissioning of 42-inch subsea and onshore pipelines, biocide skids and a corrosion inhibition unit at the Manifa central processing unit.
In July 2017, International Oil Daily reported output from massive Manifa oilfield was hit by a technical problem due to corrosion of the water injection system used to maintain pressure in the reservoir.
The field, which was brought online in two phases, has a production capacity of 900,000 barrels per day of Arabian heavy crude.
Manifa supplies feedstock to Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical Company (SATORP) in Jubail and Yanbu Aramco Sinopec Refining Company (Yasref) in Yanbu.
