Home-grown dairy brand Almarai has topped the list of most positively perceived brands in Saudi Arabia for the third year in a row, beating WhatsApp, Apple and iPhone, according to market research firm YouGov's 2017 "Best Brand Rankings" list.

Local fast food restaurant chain Al Baik placed fifth in the top 10 list, ahead of Samsung, YouTube and Google, the report said.

The annual rankings are calculated on the “buzz” scores based on the consumer feedback on the brands during a two-week period, the market research firm said.

Separately, the top 10 “most improved best brand” ranking featured Al Rajhi Bank in the fourth place ahead of Facebook and Samsung Galaxy, while construction firm Binladin Group took the eight spot.
