Saudi municipal ministry develops 155 fuel stations to attract investments

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has developed more than 155 fuel stations across the Kingdom and over 30 percent of the needed stations on main road, Saudi Press agency (SPA) reported, citing a ministry statement.

 

The fuel station improvement program aims to develop some 1,219 fuel stations on highways in order to create a competitive environment among companies to provide their best services, the ministry said.

 

The program will realize the objectives of Vision 2030, as it will give fuel stations quality rating symbols similar to that of hotel stars. It will help increase both national and foreign investments, as foreign firms are currently studying the Saudi market ahead of investing in the fuel stations sector, it added.

 

According to data compiled by Argaam, as many as 17 firms are qualified to operate, manage and maintain petrol stations on highways in Saudi Arabia, including Petromin, ENOC, Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO), ADNOC, Fuel way, 7Plus and Petrolat.
