Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport is working with the private sector to develop the right plan for project designs, management and implementation, transport minister Nabil Ala'amoodi said on Tuesday.
The new methods will be applied to the land, air and marine transport sectors.
The ministry is also aiming to enhance the transport sector efficiency, and overcome financial and environmental challenges, he added during the Future Investment Initiative (FII) 2018 conference, which launched on Monday in Riyadh.
The local transport sector will benefit from mega infrastructure projects, planned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to diversify economy and boost the Kingdom’s oil exports.
Meanwhile, smart cities will also benefit from infrastructure services under public-private partnerships, Ala'amoodi said.
