Telecom regulator approves STC’s wholesale services update

Saudi Arabia's Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) on Jan. 21 approved the update of Saudi Telecommunications Co.'s (STC) Reference Interconnection Offer (RIO), the telecom regulator said in a statement on Wednesday.

RIO organizes the wholesale services provided by STC – a dominant service provider – owning huge networks across the Kingdom.

The move aims to ensure fair and transparent environment for all telecom service providers, CITC added.

The update of RIO helps all telecom operators cut wholesale service prices and reduce wholesale mobile call termination services for retail and commercial users.
