Inflation in Saudi Arabia drops 1.9%

Saudi Arabia’s inflation, based on consumer price index, dropped by 1.9 percent in January 2019, compared with a year earlier, the latest figures from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) showed on Tuesday.

 

The consumer price index for January 2019 dropped by 0.3 percent compared to December 2018, the statistics added.

 

Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels prices declined by 7.7 percent year-on-year, recording the sharpest fall in the index, according to GASTAT.
